Botany In A Blackbean Pod

This intricately hand decorated ornament is made from repurposed vintage botany books that are now made obsolete. Honoring their life cycle I have cut and collaged the images and then sealed them (using an VOC and BPA free epoxy resin) into a black bean pod. The pod was sourced from a tree in the garden and then cleaned with the inner pith carved out to give it a smooth finish.
